Above Water

Misool’s famed biodiversity doesn’t begin and end below the waterline. Life on the islands is as varied, surreal, and beautiful as it is underwater. Kayak through lagoons and around Misool’s famous rock islands. Be amazed by the local wildlife with cockatoos and parrots flying above you and the incredibly adorable pademelons living on the island. The feeling of being dwarfed in Misool’s immense caves is therapeutic and, like many things on this journey, the experience cannot be accurately put into words. Hike up to isolated prehistoric lakes and be one of the few people in the world to have had the chance to swim with their residents, species of jellyfish who pose no threat to swimmers. Excite the archaeologist in you by viewing the cave paintings which date back almost three thousand years!

Note: Guests are requested to pay a harbor clearance and a Raja Ampat Marine Park entrance fee of € 150 per person to support management of the park.

Important: Due to the new local regulations we start our trips from Waisai (Pulau Waigeo). This is an 2 hours ferry ride leaving from the harbor in Sorong. The guests will be picked up from the airport in Sorong and guided on the ferry to Waisai. We advise our guests to arrive at the Domine Eduard Osok airport in Sorong early in the morning of the first day of the trip, or if possible, the day before. The ferry is goes twice a day, at 9AM and 2PM, the same schedule applies for the way back to Sorong.

Under Water

Picture this: You are cave diving in one of the most spectacular caves in Indonesia. Your dive has everything rom overhangs, walls, incredible underwater rock formations, and resident pygmy seahorses in immense gorgonian sea fans. This is only one of the unique diving experiences that Misool offers. It’s no-take zone, twice the size of Singapore, has been incredible successful in reintroducing shark and fish species that have not been seen in the area for generations. Be among the few divers to experience the bountiful marine life around these incredible islands. There is something for every type of diver here. Make sure to bring your camera to capture the mantas graceful dance and the dolphins whimsical play.
