Komodo, macro trip 6days 5 nights

On this trip we focus on the smaller creatures that live in the waters of Komodo National Park, These trips are usually popular for under water photographers and people that prefer to avoid the strong currents that can be present in the park.

Muck diving gets its name from the sediment that lies at the bottom of many dive sites, a frequently muddy or mucky environment. The term "muck diving" was first used in Southeast Asia and the reason for that is that here the seemingly boring sandy substrate is often home to unusual, exotic and juvenile creatures that prefer this flat ecosystem over classic coral reefs.

Certain species of colorful nudibranchs can only be found on muck. Sandy bottoms are also the homebase to the mimic octopus, a wonderful creature that is known to mimic the shapes and behaviors of other animals for protection. Other common sand dwellers are the blue-ringed octopus, the wunderpus, flamboyant cuttlefish, anglerfish, frogfish, ghost pipefish, rhinopias, dragonets, rare seahorses and many more. Of course that doesn’t mean we won’t visit the beautiful reefs that are famous for Komodo.

Note: Booking price is per person for a shared cabin. Maximum two divers per cabin. Guests are requested to pay a harbor clearance and a Komodo Park entrance fee of € 120 per person to support management of the park.

The schedule is an example of what islands and reefs we visit during this trip. So keep in mind that trips are sometimes affected by weather and sea conditions so please be prepared for last-minute changes to a planned route or activity.
