Above Water

The cultural heritage of Alor is rich and very much alive. Villages still practice old customs and still produce the handicrafts, clothing, and other products they’re traditionally known for. The areas are remote; without roads criss-crossing the mountainous islands, transport is by boat. A visit to one of these villages offers a chance to get a glimpse into every day life, experience the generous hospitality, and learn a little about the traditional ways. Visit a pearl farm and learn about one of Alor’s main industries (and possible do some shopping for yourself)! From a kayak, walking, or snorkelling, this trip will enrich you with culture and have you experience life the Indonesian way.

Note: Guests are requested to pay a harbor clearance and a fee of € 120 per person to support management of the area.

Under Water

Underwater Alor is a trove of glittering treasures waiting to be discovered. This itinerary showcases a diverse range of world-class dive sites, rich in life and full of surprises. With strong currents and fierce thermoclines, Alor is best suited to experienced divers who are prepared to brave the occasional chill. The pay off is astonishing visibility of up to 40m, kaleidoscopic coral, abundant fish life, and a good chance of hammerheads, dolphines, and of course, Mola Molas.  Dive in the largest, densest anemone fields found anywhere in the world and see sharks sleeping in caves! This is the definition of a divers paradise.
