The Story of Leyla
After four years of successful operations, we are delighted to inform you that we decided to expand our operations by launching a new boat.
Starting in January 2019 “Leyla” will operate alongside with Mantra, in Raja Ampat archipelago, In Komodo National Park and In the Banda Sea.
Our Goal with the two vessels is to increase the days of charters and shared trips available in Komodo and Raja Ampat, so that we can operate continuously in Komodo between March and December, and in Raja Ampat from October to April.
We kept the same high standard as on Mantra, and we improved where possible.
Leyla’s construction started in September 2016.
In October 2018, two years later, as planned, she was pushed in the water by the means of 20 people, pulling chain blocks, forcing her towards the sea, the hull slided on a wooden rail, sand bags created a path into the shallow water. She was dragged on the sand bottom until the water was deep enough for her to float.
At this moment she is being equipped to our standards and she will be ready in the beginning of 2019 to start her journey in Raja Ampat.
The experience we gained, was directly transferred into the specifications and the design. We set up a four guest’s cabins layout, to be able to accommodate eight to twelve guests with the same comfort as on Mantra. The four en suite cabins are all equipped with air condition.
Needless to say that Leyla maintains and improves the high standard in terms of navigation equipment, safety equipment and diving gear.
Leyla is equipped with a brand new Doosan heavy duty marine engine that delivers 285Hp, giving us comfortable 7 knots cruising speed and max speed of 9, 5 knots.
Two Yanmar Marine generators, deliver 33 kW each.
A big effort was made to soundproof the engine room.
In terms of diving operations we also improved.
The compressor room is based in the bow, is spacious and soundproofed, two compressors deliver 150 litre of air x hour each.
Nitrox will be available starting spring 2019. We improved rinsing tanks for diving gear and cameras.
Deck space and chill out areas are spacious giving the impression that the boat is bigger than her 25 meters on deck length.
Water storage and a well sized desalinization system ensure unlimited fresh water supply, fuel capacity will allow 1200 nautical miles range without worrying about refueling.
All Navigation, communication, and safety equipment is state of the art, She is ready to fulfill the guests expectations, and let them enjoy the unforgettable experience of Sailing and Diving in one of the last paradise on the planet.
October 4th 2018, Leyla is slowly leaving her birth crib in Sulawesi.
